Hello! My name is Melina Nguyen. I’m a current Digital Content Producer at WBNS-10TV in Columbus, Ohio. I graduated from Boston University in May 2024, majoring in Journalism and minoring in Statistics and Data Science.
I am also a journalist with Lucid Monday, a producer-centric label, management, and media company. The publication has a column spotlighting music producers on the newest albums and singles, a section highlighting Virtual Studio Technology, or VST, plugins and more.
My writing and content production focuses on local news and culture, with a focus on human spotlights.
My clips are featured in Boston-area news outlets such as The Somerville Times and WBUR. I have interviewed political figures such as former Mayor Curtatone and City Councilor Mark Niedergang of Somerville, scientists such as Linda Birnbaum of the NIEHS and professors in the Boston area.
I was previously a general writing intern at BU Today, a communications specialist at the Faculty of Computing and Data Science and a BU College of Communication Ambassador.
I was also a Lifestyle and Features Writer for the Daily Free Press, BU’s student-run independent newspaper, and a DJ and Station Administrator for WTBU, BU’s student-run radio station.
